Valley regional transit

Valley Regional Transit (VRT) is the regional public transportation authority for Ada and Canyon counties in southwest Idaho.

Treasure valley transit

Treasure Valley Transit, located in Nampa, Idaho provides Medicaid transportation which is open to the general public under the same fare structure (see link at the bottom of this page). Treasure Valley Transit also operates Mountain Community Transit in Valley County and McCall Transit in McCall, Idaho and Mountain Home Community Transit in Mountain Home and the Air Force Base. TVT operates Snake River Transit in Payette County as well as Ontario, Oregon. We are the rural provider for the eight Rural Counties in ITD District Three

Alternate Public Transportation

Public transportation services that are specialized to meet the needs of those more on an individual basis within a city or county.

Access bus

a curb-to-curb transit service operated by Valley Ride for qualified persons with disabilities that cannot access other means of public transportation services.

Medicaid transportation

Medicaid transportation unit authorizes transportation to and from medical appointments which are covered by Medicaid. All transportation must be prior authorized by MTU. All authorizations for transportation per Medicaid rule must be to the closest, most appropriate medical provider, as well as the most inexpensive mode of travel.

Commuter Services

Commuteride provides ride matching services that can put you in touch with other commuters based on home and work locations and work schedules. You can check out our list of Park & Ride lots, convenient locations where you can meet your new rideshare partner. We also offer a variety of commute incentives that can help you further reduce the cost of your commute. If you ride the bus, Commuteride sells several different Valley Regional Transit bus passes (please call beforehand to determine which passes we have available). We are located on the corner of Fairview and Curtis, served by Valley Ride’s #7 Fairview bus.

Employer Services

Treasure Valley Employers have a great resource in Commuteride. Our Marketing and Outreach staff is available to provide free assistance to help you with your transportation challenges. We will work collaboratively with you to develop an alternative commute plan customized specifically for your business and employees. Our goal is to help you reduce employer and employee costs associated with commuting while improving the quality of life in the Treasure Valley. We have many tools and resources available for you.

Angel flight

Angel flight west provides free transportation to medical treatment for people who cannot afford public transportation, or who cannot tolerate it for health reasons. Angel flight also flies missions in response to other compelling needs. Angel Flight west accepts requests from individuals or health care professionals such as social workers and physicians. Angel flight West links volunteer private pilots with needy people whose non-emergency healthcare problems require travel to or form medical facilities throughout the eleven western states.

Community ministries

Community ministries center offers assistance in food, formula and diapers, and bus tokens when available.

Friends in Action

Friends in Action is a non-profit, collaborative organization dedicated to sustaining quality of life, dignity and independence for older persons and their families. Volunteers provide: companionship and caregiver respite, Assistance with shopping, transportation to medical appointments, simple home maintenance, yard work, and caregiver education program.

Elderly opportunity agency

elderly Opportunity Agency, Inc. provides nutrition, transportation, health promotion and disease prevention programs for senior adults aged 60 and over.

National patient travel helpline

The National Patient Travel Hotline (NPATH) is a national charitable helpline that assists callers to find and learn about the various charitable medical air transport options available to meet a patient’s specific needs. Referrals are made to all known appropriate charities, charitably assisted, and special patient discount commercial services based on an evaluation of the patient’s medical condition, type of transport required, and departure/destination locations.
